Farewell Concorde

As Concorde G-BOAF accelerates into the setting sun her speed will soon
outpace the earth’s rotation. The 100 passengers will now have the unforgettable
experience of watching the sun rising from the west. Three and a half hours
after take-off from London, Concorde reaches New York. On 26th November 26,  2003
this aircraft returned to its first home, Filton, Bristol – probably never to fly again.

Preparing For TheTirpitz

Working around the clock and in all weather conditions the ground crew knew
from the size of the bombs they were loading, this was going to be a very special
operation for the Lancaster crews of 9 Squadron. Brainchild of Barnes Wallis,
The "Tallboy" bomb weighed in at an impressive 12,000Ib. On this occasion in
November 1944 the crews and aircraft are being readied for departure to
Lossiemouth or Kinloss on route to sink the “Tirpitz” laying at anchor near
Tromso in Norway.
